1. Green leases and fit-out (for tenants)
MBFC and ORQ adopt Green leases and fit-out guides for both office and retail space. Contact your friendly building manager if you are planning to refurbish your office/retail space.
2. Green Mark for Office Interior (for office tenants)
In 2018, the Building and Construction Authority (BCA) partnered the Health Promotion board (HPB) to introduce the new BCA-HPB Green Mark for Healthier Workplaces scheme (GM HW: 2018).
GM HW: 2018 aims to achieve office sustainability by promoting and recognising the use of environmental-friendly features and creation of supportive environments through workplace health structures, policies and programs.
The benefits of a Green Office include:

- Improved indoor environmental quality that supports a productive workforce
- Better frameworks that supports workplace health & well-being
3. Recycling Program (For tenants and visitors)
- Daily - recycling bins are made available across the portfolio
- Quarterly - recycling of used light tubes
- Yearly - recycling for e-waste
4. Green Committee
Join the Green Committee that is championed by RQAM contribute your ideas and efforts towards driving sustainability
1. Go digital and go paperless by avoiding unnecessary printing.
2. Use file-sharing websites/shared drives instead of printing and maintaining paper files.
3. Configure printer setting to print double-side. Where appropriate, configure the print settings to print two pages on each side of the paper.
4. Use eco-friendly paper, eg, those that are recycled or FSC certified.
5. Install motion sensors so that lights are only turned on when required.
6. Remember to switch off the lights when you are the last to leave a room.
7. Do not leave office lights on overnight.
8. Remember to switch off non-critical equipment,
eg, PC monitors and laptops,
that are not required when leaving the office.
9. Put computers, printers, copiers on standby or sleep mode after about 15 minutes of inactive use.
10. Use compact fluorescent bulbs instead of incandescent ones. The former uses 75% less energy than the latter.
11. Go easy with toilet napkins and toilet rolls.
Take only what is necessary.
12. Install low-flow aerators in your pantry to reduce water wastage.
13. Sort your waste and participate in recycling programmes.
14. Decline using disposable straws and cup covers unless you really need them.
15. Avoid using disposables (cutlery, plates and cups) especially during office parties.
16. Bring your own tumbler/container when buying takeaway beverages and food.
17. Bring along reusable bags for casual/grocery shopping and reduce consumption of single-use plastic bags.
18. Use environmentally friendly cleaning products.
19. Walk, cycle or take public transport to reduce your carbon emission.
20. Keep office plants to offset VOCs and CO2 emissions.
